Safeguarding children is everyone's responsibility
Hoyle Nursery School is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare and well-being of all our children and expects all staff to share this commitment. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our Safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy which can be viewed on our website.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
We believe that...
- All children have the right to be protected from harm.
- All children need to be safe and feel safe in school.
- All children need support which matches their individual needs.
- All children have the right to be supported to meet their emotional and social needs as well as their educational needs - a happy healthy sociable child will achieve better educationally.
- All staff and visitors have an important role to play in Safeguarding children and protecting them from harm.
Operation Encompass
Operation Encompass is a program designed to support children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse in their homes. It is a collaborative effort involving the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), Bury Safeguarding Children’s Board, and designated school staff, known as Key Adults. The MASH team notifies Key Adults in schools about any domestic abuse incidents where a child has been present or impacted. This communication enables schools to provide timely and appropriate support, helping children navigate what may be an emotionally challenging time.
